Erdogan’s statement on Sweden’s NATO membership “Right now, there is a Turkey that has been waiting at the EU gate for more than 50 years. Currently, almost all of the NATO member countries are EU members. I am calling out to these countries that have kept Turkey waiting at the EU gate for more than 50 years, but I will also call out in Vilnius. Clear the way for the EU, then let’s clear the way for Sweden, just as we paved the way for Finland.” he said. Erdogan’s exit from the EU became the agenda. I believe that it is now time for consultations at the level of heads of state within the scope of the strategic mechanism. Today, I see this meeting at the NATO margin as the first step of this.
