William Poromaa and Frida Karlsson have broken up.
Now Poromaa reveals that the summer “was hard” when it comes to things other than skiing.
– It has been a… free life, he says.
Frida Karlsson and William Poromaa both had great success during the winter skiing WC. But the competitions barely had time to end before the news came that shocked all Swedish sports lovers. Poromaa and Karlsson had broken up.
The revelation about the single life
The two ski stars became a couple already at the age of 15 and were then by each other’s side through both of their breakthroughs into the world elite. But for the past year, they have been living apart, and after the World Cup they announced that they had chosen to part ways. And none of them seem to suffer from it.
William Poromaa now tells Expressen that this summer he took the opportunity to do other things that might not be allowed during a ski season, and that he has now “tried that life a little bit”. And he thinks it’s fun.
– That’s it. For a while anyway. But it gets very hard when you drive for a whole month, he tells the newspaper with a laugh.

“A free life”
William Poromaa also believes that living single has its advantages.
– Well, what can I say. It has been a… free life. But I have tried not to float away too much, he says, and continues:
– But it’s clear, with party, there will be a lot of that too. It kind of goes hand in hand.
William Poromaa goes on to say that he is still single, and will be for a while.
– Yes, but I am. It is still like that. And now you have to make sure you keep to yourself when the training starts. And don’t fool yourself too much.
