United Kingdom unemployment on the rise in June

(Finance) – Surprisingly i unemployed claimants (claimant count) in the United Kingdom: they were up 25,700 units in June, after reporting a decrease of 22,500 units in May (revised from a preliminary figure of 13,600).

The data, published byOffice for National Statistics (ONS)compares with the consensus-estimated decline of 8,900.

The unemployment rate is also risingwhich came in at 4% in May versus 3.8% analyst forecasts and the previous month.

In the three months to May, employment increased by 102,000 units, following growth of 250,000 units the previous month. Market estimates were for a much less robust increase of 125,000 units.

Finally, the rate average wage growth again in May, it showed an increase of 7.3% excluding bonuses (+7.1% the consensus), as in the previous month and grew by 6.9% including this component, above the consensus (6.8% ) and the previous month (6.7%).
