The German streamer Theo “Scurrows” Bottländer has long been criticized for its gambling content and its attitude towards people in the queer community. Apparently he’s had enough of that and is threatening to make the alleged lies of the German Twitch scene public.
What is that statement? In a Twitch stream on July 9, 2023, Scurrows claimed he had “fat files” on German content creators and indicated he would use the information should anyone oppose him.
So he wants to defend himself against supposed lies that are said to be spread about him.
Scurrows originally gained notoriety with roleplaying in GTA Online:
Streamer wants to take action against “untruths”.
What’s behind it? Scurrows, like fellow streamer Kevin “Orangemorange” Bongers, had to take a lot of criticism for their gambling content in 2022. A smoldering conflict with the Berlin content creator Tanzverbot even ended in fisticuffs.
After Twitch introduced new regulations for showing gambling on the platform in October 2022, Orangemorange and Scurrows increasingly began to rant about “cancel culture”. In doing so, they offended other German streamers.
There is currently a conflict between Scurrows and Twitch streamer Pia “Shurjoka” Scholz. She had openly accused Scurrows of trans-hostile content and mentioned an earlier allegation in this context: Scurrows deliberately filmed her cleavage at gamescom in 2017 and verbally harassed her.
Scurrows wanted to refute this accusation in a video in which he showed an excerpt of the stream from his encounter with Shurjoka at the time. The streamer threatened to sue anyone in “their bubble” who would spread falsehoods about him (via Twitter).
Scurrows has “fat fat folders”
What is the current development? On the July 9th stream, Scurrows spoke again about the ongoing conflict. He accused the German Twitch scene of “lying around” and constantly belittling him for his statements.
You think you’re coming with yours […] lies through. Because you always think you’re safe, you think you’re smarter.
Scurrows claimed that he had “fat, fat folders” about all German Twitch streamers – even those that had nothing to do with him.: “I know everything about you.” Among other things, he knew about private life and conversations of the persons concerned.
The streamer laughingly adds that he was so loud so his neighbors would know never to say anything against him. So the message is clear: Scurrows is threatening to take legal action against its critics and release information about them.
Scurrows warns content creators in rows
How are the reactions? The clip was shared several times on Twitter. Users had fun posting the situations in which they would utter such a tirade (via Twitter). We have included an example for you here:
Overall, the freak out seems a bit strange to many. Scurrows himself spoke of “fun clips” and “idiot clips” in a post shortly thereafter, which appears to be related to the recordings. So it seems he’s now implying that it was just a joke (via Twitter).
However, Scurrows apparently means his threat to take legal action seriously, because on July 10 alone he wrote 3 tweets about who he was sending a warning to. The streamer targeted the Twitch streamer Freiraumreh and the YouTubers LeFloid and HerrNewstime.
Meanwhile, Twitch streamer Shurjoka has also taken legal action against opinion blogger Tim “KuchenTV” Heldt. So it seems as if the conflicts between German content creators will be settled in court in the future.
