(Finance) – Green light for the selection of sixty projects for biomethane production plants, for a capacity of almost thirty thousand cubic meters per hour. It is this – let know the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security in a note – the outcome of the first competitive procedure referring to the measurement of the PNRR which intends to develop in Italy the biomethane supply chainin line with the EU decarbonisation objectives. The list of selected projects has been published on the website of the Energy Services Manager: the sixty successful projects, for a total production capacity of approximately 29,978 Smc/h, largely involve the construction of new plants, 46 in number and for a capacity of approximately 25,000 Smc/h.
“The result of this procedure, the first of its kind for the biomethane sector, – declared the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto – is satisfactory in terms of numbers and above all important for the signal it transmits: in fact, a tight process is starting which, in line with the deadlines of the PNRR, must lead us to free up the energies and potential of this sector. We are verifying possible adjustments and procedural simplifications with the GSE to allow easier use of the resources available”.
As early as next July 14, interested operators will be able to participate in one second competitive procedure which assigns a contingent of production capacity, including the portion of capacity not assigned in the pilot tender, equal to approximately 108,272 standard cubic meters per hour.
