LoL machine loses gaming duel against little brother – “I officially stop streaming”

Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp is by far the largest League of Legends streamer on Twitch. In a nearly 9-hour stream on Saturday 7/8, the LoL titan took on his brother in 20 different matches and it didn’t go too well. He yelled that he would never stream again.

What was that situation?

  • Tyler1 almost exclusively plays LoL on Twitch: he travels 2050 hours a year. He plays Leauge of Legends obsessively and handles even the toughest of challenges.
  • Tyler has a younger brother, erobb221, who is also a Twitch streamer. But he is not a LoL junkie, but a variety streamer. He has about 10x fewer followers than the muscle-bound LoL titan.
  • The two apparently clashed privately, with Tyler1 claiming that even though he only plays LoL, he’s still “the better gamer” than his younger brother. In a 24 stream on Saturday June 8th, the aim was to find out who is the better one.

How did the stream end? The two dueled in almost 20 games, from H1Z1 to chess to win-4. In the end, Erobb narrowly led 10-9 when it came to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Here, however, the otherwise so smart Tyler1 revealed gaps in his knowledge. Though he still admits to having been in “clever kids classes” at school, things aren’t going well.

Tyler1 already had to draw the joker for “Which German composer composed after he became deaf?”, and at the end for “Beethoven” or “Mozart” he had to use the telephone joker.

Then it was finally over: When asked “How many forms of the verb “to be” are there?”, Tyler1 swam completely, didn’t know what a verb is, then listed “Be” and “Been” and said: 2.

The correct answer was 8, however, because forms such as “is” and “are” also belong to the verb forbes.

This is what brotherly love looks like.

He then discussed with his brother for minutes that his victory didn’t mean anything because he had only won in weird games like chess that weren’t even video games. Or in Mario Kart, that doesn’t even count, it’s just a party game.

Tyler1 won in the “real” games like League of Legends, H1Z1 or Overwatch.

He also hates his brother, just wants his peace now and will give him $10,000 if he releases him from the obligation to watch a 24-hour stream. He should think twice about taking the $10,000 – it’s “like a sponsor deal”

Brother Erobb, however, clearly enjoyed nagging loudmouthed Tyler1. Even said he wanted to forego the $10,000 and would rather play through the 24 hours to make Tyler1 suffer – but he couldn’t do anything with that now.

    Attention, loud:

How did the stream end? When Erobb was gone, Tyler1 was still yelling in front of his computer. Keep shouting “Fuck my life” and announcing: That’s it, he’ll never stream again. It’s officially over. Streaming career over.

The stream ended by addressing his biggest defeat yet when he had to play LoL together with “damn Ludwig”. Apparently it was traumatic for life.

This is how Tyler1 put Ludwig down at the time:

Little Brother Triumphs: ‘He Used To Beat Me Until I Cried’

What does that look like from Erobb’s point of view? For the younger brother Steinkamp, the stream on Saturday was a huge triumph. The streamer says he knew he was better than Tyler1. He also told him: He plays far too much LoL and is therefore not as good as he used to be:

You have to understand this: when we were growing up, he busted my ass in every game. I got punched in every game. And he rubbed it in my face. He bullied me until I started crying

Despite all the clamor, it’s safe to assume Tyler1 will be back on the air soon, once he’s come to terms with the shame of losing to his little brother.
