A man tried to rob a nail salon in American Atlanta – but in vain. Instead of receiving money, the man had to leave the salon empty-handed, after both customers and staff ignored his demands. Now the police are asking the public for tips that could lead to an arrest.
It was on July 3 that the police were called to the nail salon in Atlanta, in the state of Georgia, regarding the suspected robbery in progress. According to the police, witnesses must have raised the alarm after seeing the man enter the salon wearing a blue cap, sunglasses and blue jeans.
A film sequence from a surveillance camera inside the salon then shows how the man steps into the room with his hand stuffed into a shoulder strap bag. But when he demands to know where the money is, and calls on customers and staff to lie down on the floor, he is met with neither panic nor horror.
No one in the salon seems to react to what is happening.
Had to leave without money
A few seconds later, a woman can be seen slowly getting up from her chair and backing out of the store. There are two more women who are not intimidated by the man’s threatening tone.
A few seconds later, the man himself leaves the salon – without having received any money.
Reward issued
Although the incident was caught on film, the police have not yet been able to identify the man. The public is now being asked for tips that could lead to an arrest.
A reward of 2,000 dollars, equivalent to around 21,600 kroner, has also been issued to anyone who provides information that could lead to a detention.
