Ukraine experienced this July 8 the 500ᵉ day of the Russian invasion, which began on February 24, 2022. A bitter day for a large part of the population, confronted for sixteen months on a daily basis with war and bombardments, everywhere on the territory of the country. However, the day was softened somewhat by news of the return home of five commanders who led the fierce defense of the Azovstal factory during the siege of Mariupol in the spring of last year.
