“Loki” never auditioned for his role, he actually wanted to be the hero

Tom Hiddleston’s international breakthrough came with his role as Marvel villain Loki. He actually wanted to play a completely different character: the hero Thor.

As the god of lies, Loki makes life difficult for his brother Thor. In several Marvel film adaptations, such as The Avengers and now even in his own series, the actor appears again and again in the costume of the Norse god.

The actor opened up about his Marvel role on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November 2019. He also said that he actually wanted to play Thor.

Tom Hiddleston figured he could just try and get a part in the movie. Although the actor isn’t expecting to be cast anyway.

However, the actor is not applying for the role of the villain Loki, but for the role of the main character: superhero and god of thunder Thor.

The producers are looking for unknown actors for the role so that they are not associated with other films. People just had to be of a certain height and have blond hair to audition.

“I never auditioned for Loki. I only auditioned for Thor, which is crazy“explains the actor on the talk show.
