(Finance) – The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky is expected today at Istanbul with a delegation from the Kiev government at the invitation of the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The news came from the Turkish state TV Trt which specified that the talks between the two presidents in the afternoon will be war between Russia and Ukraine and the agreement found last year – expiring on July 17 – which allowed exports of grain from Ukrainian ports. The meetings have been set for 9 pm (8 pm in Italy) which will be followed by a joint press conference between Erdogan and Zelensky.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov – quoted by the Interfax agency – said that Russia will follow the meeting “very closely” and did not rule out a face-to-face meeting with Erdogan from the Russian president Vladimir Putin. This was stated by spokesman Dmitry Peskov quoted by the Interfax agency.
Meanwhile President Zelensky stated that the delivery of long range weapons to Ukraine “depends exclusively” on a decision by Washington. “Without long-range weapons it is difficult not only to carry out offensive missions but also, indeed, defensive operations,” Zelensky added during his visit to Prague. “We are discussing it with the States Unitedat the moment it’s up to them,” he said.
