Nature photographer Robert Ahrenhold, known by his alias Shanti Lfe, would photograph seagulls. But what he caught on film – made him call the police.
– What the hell?! I called the police, who took it up on land, he says.
On Monday, Ahrenhold was in Agger Tange, in Jutland, in Denmark. The headland between the Limfjorden and the North Sea offers good conditions for photographing a number of different bird species.
But when he was scouting for seagulls – something eerie appeared in the lens.
– I could see both an arm and a toe with nails sticking up, he says Midwest TV.
Thought it was connected to drug cartels
Ahrenhold initially believed the gruesome find was linked to a drug cartel smuggling cocaine in the North Sea. He therefore contacted the police, who were quickly on the scene, and showed the images to the patrol.
– We rushed out and a small rescue effort was started, says Henrik Jensen, local police in Thisted.
When the rescue operation was finished, the police could establish that it was neither a victim of drug traffickers, nor some strange bird.
Pulled up on the beach
What the police pulled up on the beach was in fact a doll.
– It wasn’t a human, it was a Lolita porn doll, says Robert Ahrenhold.
The find probably comes from a boat that has capsized off Agger Tange. According to the news channel, the boat must have been abandoned in the fall of 2022 and the dock has been bobbing around since then. According to Danish police, the “porn doll” has now been destroyed.
