Single Drunk Female was originally a Disney-financed Freeform production. According to a report from Deadline the network canceled the series on June 30, 2023, which disappeared entirely from Disney+ shortly thereafter. According to a press release, the second season of the series was not released until June 28th.
Fans had just under three days between the Disney + start of the second season and deletion to see the new episodes. Apparently there are tax reasons behind the extremely quick decision. As What’s on Disney Plus writes, the series’ costs can be covered by quickly removing it from the stream.
Leading actress Sofia Black-D’Elia already reacted to the dismissal via Instagram and thanked her fans: “I loved doing this series. I am grateful to everyone who worked on it.”
