15 people have died during heavy rains in southwestern China, according to state media.
The rain “killed 15 people and left four others missing in southwest China’s Chongqing municipality at 7 a.m. Wednesday,” the state-run New China News Agency reported, citing local authorities.
On Tuesday, Chinese authorities warned that extreme weather and “several natural disasters” are expected in the next month, including floods, typhoons and high temperatures. Thousands of people have been forced to leave their homes due to the rainstorms that have hit central and southwestern China.
