Xavier Yvon: In the previous acts of our play, President Macron announced his pension reform, the unions marched fourteen times throughout France and the deputies railed against each other in the hemicycle.

With 49.3 and the promulgation of the law, we thought the comedia dell’arte was over. But here comes a new twist… “The pension reform”: Act 4, scene 6. The place: the 7th arrondissement of Paris, in an art deco building. The main character: the COR, the retirement guidance council.

At the end of June, it is very hot. COR members are finalizing their latest report in a large room. Everything is calm, when suddenly: the organization announces that, despite the reform, the French pension system will remain in deficit.

On stage, the other protagonists arrive from all sides. Emmanuel Macron opens a door on the right, the unions tumble down the stairs, the deputies on the left through the door at the back! And the French, spectators, are dumbfounded.

In this episode of La Loupe, we tell you how this intrigue is added to the already very complicated story of the pension reform and how the adventures of the COR come to disturb the game of the government.
