In a June 30 blog post, the developers of ARK: Survival Evolved announced that the release of the ARK remaster would be postponed and the price would change – at least temporarily.
What is this remaster?
ARK remaster will appear later and without a DLC map
What changes on the release? The release of ARK Survival Ascended, scheduled for August 2023, has been postponed. The ARK remaster is now set to be released in October 2023.
On top of that, the release schedule for the DLC content is changing. ARK Survival Ascended appears – contrary to the original plan – only with the map “The Island”. The “Scorched Earth” DLC is to be submitted in December 2023. Aberration and Ragnarok will follow in the first quarter of 2023.
At the beginning of April, Wildcard said that “Scorched Earth” would be included in the game when the remaster was launched. “Aberration” should be added in the fourth quarter of 2023, followed by “Extinction” in the first quarter of 2024. Maps like Ragnarok and Fjördur should then follow in the course of 2024.
Incidentally, ARK recently received a new creature in the form of the giant beetle “Rhyniognatha”:
Remaster becomes cheaper because content is not finished
What changes in the price? ARK Survival Ascended is scheduled to launch in October 2023 as an Early Access title at a reduced price due to the studio’s failure to deliver the content originally promised when the remaster was released.
Instead of $60, ARK Survival Ascended will now cost $44.99 during the Early Access period. There should also be a discount for the release, which would make the remaster available for $39.99.
It is not yet known in detail how much the ARK Survival Ascended will cost us in euros. However, it is to be expected that the purchase price will not differ greatly.
ARK players are used to new content being postponed and will also have to wait some time for the release of the successor ARK 2: ARK 2: Release postponed to the end of 2024 – Studio Wildcard explains how it will continue
