A sunny start to the summer has turned into heavy rain.
Heavy thunderstorms are expected in large parts of the country this week – but the turnaround is on the way.
– We have fronts that are moving away, says TV4’s meteorologist Lovisa Svanberg.
The holiday season has gotten off to a wet start. Large amounts of rain have fallen around the country. Several areas have been flooded. And this week it is still rainwear rather than sunbeds that apply.
– In connection with that, there may be some thunder and unsettled weather. When there is thunder, there can be really strong thundershowers and a fairly large amount of rain for a short time, says TV4’s meteorologist Lovisa Svanberg.
Some rain fronts are moving away – but new ones are also moving in.
“The forecast a little more uncertain”
SMHI has issued a yellow warning in the southwestern parts of the country due to strong winds. From Gothenburg all the way down to Malmö, it can blow up to 17 meters per second. But on Friday, the situation changes, and large parts of the country can once again enjoy sunshine.
– We really see how these fronts and low pressure will advance further and further to the northeast, says Lovisa Svanberg.
Whether it is something that lasts remains to be seen.
– After the weekend, the forecast will be a little more uncertain as to how the forecast will turn out with new rain areas coming in, says Lovisa Svenberg.
