The fatal accident at Gröna Lund – several demand the money back

Gröna Lund plans to open its doors next week.
Now, however, more and more are demanding money back from the theme park after a woman in her 30s died and nine people were injured when the Jetline roller coaster derailed.
“The estimate is that we have refunded around 30 Grönan Live cards,” says press officer Gabriella Ganditsky for TV4 Nyheterna.

The tragic fatal accident took place at the amusement park on Sunday, June 25. Since then, Gröna Lund has remained closed and investigations by the Accident Commission, the police and the amusement park themselves are ongoing. Gröna Lund plans to reopen next week.

– We are working towards an opening next week. Details for that are too early to say yet, said Gabriella Granditsky, press officer at Gröna Lund, to Aftonbladet earlier today.

The park plans to open on Monday, but then as a walking park.

– We want to provide an opportunity for those who want to come to Gröna Lund for a quiet moment together, out of respect for what happened, says CEO Jan Eriksson to GP.

On Monday, no attractions, games or sales outlets will be open. On Wednesday, the park will be opened again for paying guests, the newspaper writes further.

Repayment requirements Gröna Lund

After the accident, Gröna Lund has received refund demands from visitors. Last night there were 199 people who had demanded money back for their Gold Cards, which give visitors free entry all season and free concerts.

TV4 Nyheterna has been in contact with Gröna Lund.

“We give the money back for gold cards and Grönan Live passes, given that the guest has not yet been to a concert,” writes Gabriella Granditsky.

“The estimate is that we refunded around 30 Grönan Live cards. If you have not used your card and no longer want to visit the park, we will refund you”.

Gabriella Granditsky says that the park understands that people want their money back.

” It is clear that we hope that our guests will want to come back. Gröna Lund has always strived to be a place where young and old can create happy memories together with family and friends, and we hope to get there again,” she writes.
