According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova, a foreign national opened fire at Chisinau International Airport after he was not allowed to enter the country.
While the attacker took several people hostage, flights at the airport were temporarily suspended.
Security forces and medical teams were sent to the airport.
The person who opened fire in the operation launched by Moldovan special forces was injured and detained.
