One player managed to find all items that can drop from bosses in MMORPG Oldschool Runescape (Steam). This makes him the first person to do this. The player Bazilijus has been on it for 3 years since the outbreak of the Corona pandemic in 2020. In total, his character has 22,000 hours of gameplay.
The player succeeded:
What were the hardest bosses? It is estimated that the player had to kill a boss in Runescape about 150,000 times to get all the items. The task is purely luck dependent and a matter of patience. Bosses’ items have a very low chance of dropping parts, so it can take many, many kills to find a specific item you’re missing from a boss.
The boss that the player had to kill most often was Callisto, a magically enhanced bear. The patient MMORPG player had to kill him 10,001 times to check off all the items on the loot list that Callisto dropped.
The last item he got was the “Inquisitor Mace” from Phsani’s Nightmare, this boss only came into play in June 2021.
He received the last missing item on June 26, 2023. Just completing this part of the boss log is said to have taken around 1,000 hours.
Much patience and frustration tolerance necessary for success
How long did he sit there?? In total, the character spent 919 days, about 22,000 hours, in OldSchool Runescape. But this particular loot list, which he took to be a challenge, didn’t come into play until 2018. Bazilijus only really started hunting the items with the outbreak of the Corojna pandemic in 2020.
As GamesRadar knows, he was still doing pretty well when he was 3 years old. Another player tried (via reddit) to fill the collection for a single boss, Kree’arra, and got 19,000 kills just to get all 8 possible items.
Bazijlus was able to ignore the boss after just 2,613 kills. Such a lucky guy.
Runescpae is truly a game where players push themselves to the limit, with odds that are insanely low, but eventually even the most unlikely of events will happen:
