In the past, refugees from Ukraine have not had the opportunity to read SFI due to their status as mass refugees, which the chairman of the municipal board, Jimmy Jansson (S), among others, has been critical of. But the government changed that on June 1.
Great demand
In Eskilstuna there are around 150 Ukrainian refugees and the interest in reading SFI is great, according to the principal Veronica Haugdahl Eklind.
– Of these one hundred and fifty in Eskilstuna, sixty have already registered with SFI, she says.
