The Quinfall is a new indie MMORPG coming to Steam that aims to fulfill the dreams of almost every player, whether in PvE or PvP. The first gameplay trailer also looked really good. The developers have now shown their character editor in some screenshots – and it also makes a positive impression.
What kind of game is this? The Quinfall is a buy2play MMORPG and promises a perfect mix of theme park and sandbox:
All of this is garnished with a massive action combat system, nice graphics thanks to Unreal Engine 5 and NVIDIA RTX, and a dynamic weather system similar to Throne and Liberty.
But the first impression made many skeptical. For an indie developer who has only existed since 2021, that sounded far too ambitious. But the latest pictures of the character editor also show that the studio really wants to go high.

Lots of choices and over 150 beautiful tattoos
What does the character editor offer? The developers present the editor in more detail in two new screenshots. On the left edge you can see the various setting options. These include sliders for large elements such as bone structure or muscles and many small details such as eyebrows, eyelashes and lips.
The skin color is also rather unusual with the blue-green tone, but fits surprisingly well into a fantasy world.
The body hair on the male characters is particularly striking – which only very few MMORPGs offer at all – and the large selection of tattoos. More than 150 of them can be seen in the first screenshot. There are classic motifs such as skulls or hearts, but also more unusual symbols.
Especially in the recent past, when the character editors of New World or Blue Protocol have been quite disappointing, The Quinfall makes a particularly good impression.
What else did the developers show? In the past few weeks, a number of screenshots have been shared on the official MMORPG channels. New zones of the game world, the login screen and pictures of features such as collecting were shared (via Twitter).
There was also a first glimpse of the weapons that the characters will carry. You can choose between sword and shield, two-handed sword, bow, spear, axe, crossbow and two daggers. However, there should be no classes in The Quinfall.
The Quinfall sounds too good to be true
What is surprising about the announcements? The studio behind The Quinfall was only founded in Istanbul in 2021 and is said to have over 50 employees, according to LinkedIn. Compared to the big developers like Bioware, ArenaNet or Blizzard, that’s a rather small number.
In the almost two years, a lot should have happened, at least if you believe the trailers so far. A lot of the content there looks pretty finished, the graphics look surprisingly good and a lot of attention has been paid to small details, like now with the character editor.
That arouses suspicion, after all the developers are planning such a large number of features that they can easily keep up with the big AAA MMORPGs and could even surpass some. That seems unrealistic.
But it’s positive that they haven’t started a crowdfunding campaign yet and probably also invite people to the beta via e-mail and don’t ask for money for access. So they seem to be able to finance themselves for the time being.
What do you think of The Quinfall? Do you like the concept, the trailer and the character editor? And do you think an indie MMORPG can really offer all these elements?
