The Social Democrats want the resources for Sweden’s municipalities and regions to be indexed and written up with inflation, says party leader Magdalena Andersson during a press conference in Almedalen.
– We are proposing a system shift in how we look at the resources in our common welfare.
– It would provide better predictability for municipalities and regions, says Andersson.
The proposal means, if you calculate for 2024, an increase of almost eleven billion, according to economic policy spokesperson Mikael Damberg, who also attends the press meeting.
He calls the proposal a base plate and not a ceiling.
– We will need more resources, says Damberg.
