Suspected bird flu in Sölvesborg – 50 dead birds found

Now the County Administrative Board in Blekinge urges private individuals and breeders to be careful.

– As always, it is important to be careful about hygiene and not handle dead birds or animals unnecessarily. For those of you who have poultry, it is also important to review your infection control routines, says Malin Collin, county veterinarian at the Blekinge County Administrative Board.

During the spring, bird flu has caused high mortality in wild birds in, among other places, Kalmar and Stockholm counties, the County Administrative Board writes on its website. But the risk of infection to humans is considered to be very low.

The test results from the birds in Sölvesborg are expected to arrive during the week.
