In 2 weeks, the first supporter will appear, boosting the damage of other classes

In July, the Rufer class in World of Warcraft gets its new specialization. He becomes a kind of supporter and is supposed to increase the damage of other players, which Blizzard says has never existed in the game before. We at MeinMMO reveal what that means and how it is received.

What does the specialization do? It goes by the name of Augmentation and is a new DPS spec, albeit a little different than usual. Because the great strength lies in increasing the damage of others instead of causing a lot yourself.

To do this, the caller relies on the help of the bronze and black dragonflight. These give the class a range of magical abilities, some of which can be applied via AoE effects, but also specifically to individual group members.

So that the caller still looks good in the DPS meter, Blizzard even wants to make adjustments to the combat log so that the additional damage can be assigned correctly.

When is the specialization coming? It will be released along with Patch 10.1.5 on July 12th.

Easy to learn, great for a group, but definitely not a solo spec

What skills are there? When it comes to abilities, you have a choice of effects from the bronze dragonflight, which rely more on time manipulation, or the black dragonflight, which rely more on brute force. The talent tree is also divided a little between these two elements.

We have presented four of the skills and three talents to you in this article: Callers get a third specialization: “There has never been anything like it in WoW”.

Also, from the patch notes on the test servers, the Caller has some talents to absorb damage and be immune to interrupts. Therefore, the PvP talent Lava Shield has now been completely removed from the test (via WoWHead). This provided a shield that absorbs damage and – while active – makes you immune to silence and stuns.

How is the new specialization being received? The basic concept as a supporter is well received. There are always comments like I think it’s mega or something I’ve wanted for a long time.

The only criticism is that the caller was chosen for this and not some kind of bard. That would have gone down even better with many.

The specialization has been playable on the test servers for some time. It states that the Amplifier Caller is fairly easy to play overall and packs strong abilities. The rotations shouldn’t be that demanding. However, if you want to get the most out of it, you have to practice a lot and, above all, work on the positioning. Specialization is hard to master here.

Especially as a solo player, the adventures should be just as exhausting as with healers. You cause a little more damage yourself, but have less self-healing. Overall, however, progress is significantly slower than DPS classes, according to the general feedback.

What are your thoughts on the new specialization? Have you tested them yet? And are you looking forward to a supporter?
