Diablo has been missing a feature for years. It’s already becoming a meme in the community after the servers had major problems over the weekend.
What is still relevant after 11 years? A Diablo 4 post appeared on Reddit over the weekend entitled “I Posted This 11 Years Ago And It’s Sadly Still Relevant”. The post consists of an image (see title image) and the text:
“I can’t wait for the servers to come back online. So I can play the single player”
The post collected almost 2,000 comments (via reddit.com). What does the community write about it and why is it so important?
“Give people an offline mode”
Why is that important? Many players gamble Diablo 4 for themselves. They create characters and play through the story at a pace that suits them best. In doing so, they place the greatest value on delving deep into and participating in the dark history surrounding Sanctuary.
However, this experience will be interrupted when the servers are offline. Although you only want to play the campaign for yourself, you have to be online. This is where players want the option for an offline mode. So you could at least play the campaign at any time. Even if that means walking around the world together without friends or other players.
Right now, shortly after the release of Diablo 4, that’s a big wish. As Blizzard struggled with DDoS issues over the weekend, the topic came up again. 11 years ago, the image at the start of Diablo 3 with its server problems was already relevant and shared by user regisfrost in exactly the same form.
This is what the community writes: In the thread’s comments, many users are involved and explain why an offline mode would be important to them.
