Some people think it’s a Hollywood movie and expect immediate results, but it’s not. This is how President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on counter-offensive efforts, while part of Western opinion is alarmed at the lack of immediate results from the Ukrainian operation.

The fighting continues, in a virulent way, in the south, in the Zaporijia region, but also in the Donbass, everywhere the Russian forces seem to oppose the Ukrainians strong resistance.

However, it should be remembered that the operations for the reconquest of the Kherson and Kharkiv regions had begun in the summer of 2022, and that they had lasted several months with a lot of uncertainty and also losses on the Ukrainian side.

Currently, the Ukrainian forces, once again, but in a context probably even more difficult, are trying to hit Russian logistics behind the front.

The summer season and Western pressure is pushing for offensive operations, but it is almost certain that the Ukrainians are playing for time before obtaining the air resources from Western partners to try to carry out the blow.
