The Radiation Safety Authority has been tasked with moving parts of the operations back to Solna, the government writes in a press release.
The reason is that they want to create better conditions for conducting security-sensitive operations and the Solna office has the required security status.
It is only the authority’s seat and management function, which in practice only means the director general, that is covered by the move. The other parts of the business and the employees will remain in Katrineholm.
The Radiation Safety Authority works, among other things, with the development of the civil defense and carries out supervision and provides permit review of nuclear activities.
The relocation of the affected business units is to take place this year.
