Final midsummer forecast: Warning for heavy rain

Midsummer Eve is just around the corner and many hope that the day will be characterized by sun and warmth.
This will also be the case in large parts of the country – but there are exceptions where copious amounts of rain can fall.
– There could even be a bit of a problem here, says TV4 Nyhetern’s meteorologist Elisabeth Danielsson.

Sun and clouds and a shower between the snapper and the herring. The classic midsummer weather doesn’t let up this year either.

But in several parts of the country, the heat dominates. The whole of Götaland is expected to bask in the sun all day – and on some parts of the east coast the temperatures can reach upwards of 28 degrees.

If you plan to celebrate midsummer in northern Norrland, it may be time to strengthen yourself with both an umbrella and rain-resistant clothes.

– Here we have a front that can bring downpour-like rain where it can fall upwards of 90 millimeters. They even warn about floods there, says meteorologist Elisabeth Danielsson.

The clear weather is spreading

On Midsummer’s Day, the clear weather looks to spread northwards with really fine weather also in the southern parts of Norrland. Overall, temperatures will rise to 25, 26 degrees in the southern half of the country with the possibility of local afternoon showers.

In the rain-affected northern Norrland, the downpour-like rain also subsides to instead return to more normal downpours.

– You can say that it will be a traditional Midsummer, says Elisabeth Danielsson.
