Deleted 47 million emails – gets a million fine
The American major bank JP Morgan is fined four million dollars, equivalent to SEK 43 million, by the American financial inspection agency SEC.
The background is that the bank must have accidentally deleted around 47 million emails that belonged to part of the bank’s operations, which made several planned inspections by the SEC impossible.
The bank has neither admitted nor denied the crime but agreed to the legal settlement.
