At 22:46 on Monday evening, the police received an alarm about an assault in Bredäng, in southern Stockholm. A man had been injured by another man with a stabbing weapon.
– The man was seriously injured but did not receive life-threatening injuries, says Towe Hägg, police spokesperson.
The man suffered injuries to his upper body and was taken to hospital by an ambulance helicopter.
– We will go to the hospital and talk to him to hear his version of what happened.
Perpetrator was detained
A man was arrested at the scene shortly after the incident.
– The perpetrator who attacked was restrained by other people on site when they called us. They held him until we arrived, says Towe Hägg.
The arrested man will be questioned by the police.
The police classify the incident as attempted murder. The police remain on the scene in Bredäng for a while into the night.
– We collect information from people who may have seen and heard something, says Towe Hägg.
