Boris Johnson is escorted from Parliament
Britain’s parliament has voted to impeach the country’s former prime minister Boris Johnson by 354-7, the BBC reports.
Parliament voted on Monday on a committee inquiry which found that Boris Johnson deliberately misled Parliament about his knowledge of “partygate”. One of the consequences is that Johnson no longer has free access to the Parliament building Westminster in London.
Boris Johnson resigned last week as an MP after an inquiry presented its findings.
Several British media note that Conservative Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was not present during the vote. Earlier in the day, Sunak met Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.
