Is it really a good idea to recreate a bloody competition from a satirical series, albeit in a watered-down form, of course? You remember Squid Game. In autumn 2021 there was hardly any other topic for several weeks. In the South Korean hit series from Netflix 456 participants fought for prize money of 4.56 million won. Wealth or death, there is nothing in between in the series, because whoever drops out is killed or dies in one of the games. The prize money goes to the last person: the winner(s).
Netflix applies this concept to a reality show, Squid Game: The Challenge. Because what worked well in fiction may not be so bad in reality. Or?

Apparently that caused tension.

It ruled well Temperatures in the sub-zero range, which allegedly meant that some participants had to be treated for frostbite. It is said that the games were influenced in favor of better-known participants. Netflix rejected the reports in a statement. According to the company, about “Claims of Serious Injury False”.
