TV4 Nyheterna has come across the Moderates’ secret investigation into Muf chairman Douglas Thor.
The investigation, which took three months to complete, is two A4 pages long and suggests no consequences for Thor.
Critics now call it an attempt to sweep the deal under the rug.
The Moderates’ internal investigation into Douglas Thor has until recently only been read by a few people. This weekend, it was presented to the youth association’s board and received wider distribution.
Via a source, TV4 Nyheterna has received a copy. The investigation is very brief and criticizes Douglas Thor. But it does not suggest any consequences other than that Muf should tighten a number of policies on, for example, discrimination and bullying.
– Formally speaking, no irregularities have occurred. Then there were a number of routines and behaviors that were not okay, and then we point that out to Muf, says Moderate party leader Ulf Kristersson.

The internal investigation of Douglas Thor has been described as extremely thorough by the party leadership. It has received internal criticism, as the investigation is two pages long, half of which consists of an explanation of what an internal investigation is.
Sources within both Muf and the Moderates believe that the investigation appears to be an attempt to sweep the affair under the rug.
– My view is that the investigation was very thorough. We as a party leave it at this, says Elisabeth Svantesson, member of M’s party board.

TV4 Nyheterna’s investigation has shown that Douglas Thor wanted to poke the Muf’s district chairman in Jämtland in a chat, among other things by offering paid membership fees to new members. According to the investigation, however, it seems to have been difficult to find interested parties.
Thor has also discussed moving members from other districts, but it fell on a technicality. Two people have also stated to TV4 Nyheterna that they were offered paid trips to Jämtland – which they refused.
The internal investigation therefore reaches the conclusion that the election in Jämtland went formally correctly. When asked if the incident affects confidence in Douglas Thor, who also sits on the Moderate party board, both Ulf Kristersson and Elisabeth Svantesson answer no.
– It is not my job to comment on those who are elected in other organizations by the Moderates. We had a mission, we completed it and we have given Muf our views, says Ulf Kristersson.
