Monique comes from afar. She was born and raised in Maastricht and wanted to become everything: ski teacher, farmer’s wife, archaeologist, ballerina, garbage collector, hairdresser, primary school teacher, but chose art school and then became a teacher, because she likes to talk. About her favorite silver sorrel, the experiments with new plants (which also often fail) and about the earwigs (natural pest controllers) that she lures to the garden with terracotta pots filled with straw. “If I’m talking too much, you have to tell me, then you just have to cut me off.”
