“Pitti – continues Felloni – is a fundamental moment of promotion of the relationships between producers and commercial operators which, like warp and weft, intertwine to give life to a precious and resistant fabric. During this manifestationinterpreter of changes in lifestyle, design and sustainability, the Provincial Presidents of the Italian Fashion Federation-Confcommercio discussed the present and above all the future of retail also in light of the price increases of production which risk slowing down the recovery of consumption. From the monthly monitoring of the sales of fashion products carried out on the companies associated a positive trend emerges in the first quarter of 2023 (in January +8.9%; in February +5.3%; in March +8.7%), but after the average drop of 3.5% in April, a – 9.8% in May over the same month last year. A datum conditioned by climate too cold for the season and especially for theflood event which affected part of theEmilia and especially the Romagnaeven with losses in some areas exceeding 50% which have affected the national average”.
“On the one hand, an ever greater collaboration between producers/suppliers, showroom and retail to find suitable solutions; on the other hand, that the Government listen to the requests of the category, as reiterated by our Assembly. In particular, urgent action is needed on commercial leases such as, for example, a 30% tax credit or the coupon dry on commercial leases conditional on the obligation of a reasonable reduction of the rents following a specific agreement between the landlord and the tenant. Furthermore, we have asked for a ‘fashion bonus’, such as those already tested for cars and furniture, following the delivery of used products to fashion stores by consumers. With the recent approval of the Council of Ministers of the DDL on Made in Italythe Italian Fashion Federation hopes for a reduced VAT rate of 10% on sustainable and made in Italy fashion products”.
