Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe comments on the new series and its successor

The remake of the Harry Potter books as a series for the streaming service Max (formerly HBO Max) is still in its infancy, but will definitely come in a few years. Is this a completely wrong idea or a chance to improve the films? Opinions differ, but now Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe himself has found concrete words about the remake plans.

Daniel Radcliffe foresaw the Harry Potter series

Although Daniel Radcliffe was the face of arguably the world’s most famous sorcerer’s apprentice for eight films, he claims no claim to the role. In an interview with Deadline he commented on the Harry Potter reboot as a series:

Harry Potter is too big a literary phenomenon to stop after our film series. I kind of always knew this was going to happen. […] I think Harry Potter was always destined to be like Sherlock Holmes. People, who [den ersten Sherlock-Darsteller] Basil Rathbone probably also said, ‘No one else can ever play that role’ […] But it happened.

Daniel Radcliffe does not deny that his thoughts have often revolved around the young actor who replace him as Harry Potter becomes. After all, nobody can understand all that this role entails as well as he does:

The role is handed over to someone else. It’s a strange thought for me that there’s an 8-year-old kid out there right now whose life is about to change in a few years. My brain is definitely going in that direction. But I think the movies, or in this case the series, goes on, was pretty much unavoidable.
Will Daniel Radcliffe return to the new Harry Potter series?

In the past, Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe have distanced themselves from Harry Potter by taking their careers in other directions and raising their voices against the statements of creator JK Rowling. Nevertheless, many are of course interested in the question of one thing potential cameos by Daniel Radcliffe in the Harry Potter series:

So Daniel Radcliffe denies his return to Harry Potter, even if the way he does it doesn’t sound as vehement as it did in the past. Is that just politeness or a hidden never-say-never response? We’ll find out over the next few years. The Harry Potter series will 2025 at the earliest come.
