AT doctors in England start a 72-hour strike on Wednesday morning.

Routine and planned care will be affected. A similar strike in April led to the postponement of 196,000 surgeries and appointments, according to the employers’ site.

The British healthcare association BMA’s committee for AT doctors says that doctors have had a real pay cut of 26 percent over the past 15 years, as a result of inflation. The government describes the salary requirements as unrealistic.
