There is a strong fire at the Rönnskärsverken in Skelleftehamn.
– Right now we have a number of rescue vehicles on site, 15-20, which are preventing the spread of the fire, says Sören Gustavsson, team leader at SOS Alarm.
The alarm came in at 02:25 and a VMA has been issued where everyone in the area is asked to go indoors and close doors, windows and ventilation due to the heavy smoke development.
Sören Gustavsson believes that the extinguishing work will continue throughout the day.
– At least until dinner time, he says.
No one is said to have been injured.
Rönnskärsverken outside Skellefteå is Sweden’s only smelter for the production of base metals. The works also manage the recycling of electronic waste.
