Ukraine has now recaptured seven villages in the Donetsk region during the ongoing counter-offensive. The information about the recaptured villages comes from Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maljar.
– What we hear is that it is going according to plan. What they have sent forward now is a kind of vanguard that is fired upon by both aircraft and artillery and drones that Russia is sending forward, says SVT’s Ukraine correspondent Elin Jönsson.
Paasikivi: Likely in the fighting
Much also indicates that at least some of the 50 Swedish combat vehicles 90 are now participating in the battles along the Russian defense line.
– There have been film images that indicate that 90 combat vehicles are involved in the fighting. There are a few, but it is likely that they are there, says lieutenant colonel Joakim Paasikivi.
He says it is too early to comment on Ukraine’s chances of success.
– I would say that you have good chances. But there will be more difficult losses, he says.
