The three largest unions of hospital doctors (CMH, INPH, Snam-HP) are calling for a day of strike and general action on July 4th. They denounce a situation which “has never been so serious” in public hospitals.
In a press release released on Saturday June 10, three unions representing hospital doctors announced that they had issued a strike notice on July 4 and demanded “the immediate resumption of negotiations” with the Ministry of Health. They alert to the worrying situation of the public hospital in France which “collapses in whole sections”.
Hospital doctor: a profession that no longer attracts
The three unions regret that the profession of hospital doctor is “has become a real foil” both “young doctors (who) no longer want to commit” in the hospital only for those “of all ages (who) quit more and more”.
An increase in wages
In the press release published on Saturday, hospital doctors call on the Ministry of Health, demanding “the immediate resumption of negotiations”. These had been suspended a month ago. In detail, they ask for a “general increase in all remuneration to take account of inflation” and an “immediate revaluation”night and weekend on-duty and on-call duty, the main causes of the “difficulty of medical practice”.
Another strike call for June 20
Last week, another strike call was issued for June 20. Four of the five main hospital unions (the health federations of the CGT, FO, SUD and Unsa) have filed strike notices to demand better working conditions and wage increases. This strike day will take the form of “local unit gatherings“, told AFP Yann Le Baron, secretary general of Unsa-Santé.
