After the first round of 64 and the second of 67, Holmqvist has a total of eleven under par, which is one stroke better than the South Korean Kim Hyo-Joo.
35-year-old Holmqvist had seven birdies, but also unfortunately three bogeys.
Holmqvist has not even passed the qualification limit in any of the five competitions she has played on the tour this year. Now it looks all the brighter with only one round to go – the competition in New Jersey is played over 54 holes.
The next Swede in the results list is Anna Nordqvist in joint tenth place and a total of six under par.
Dani Holmqvist is in the sole lead in the LPGA tour competition in New Jersey. The Swedish golfer went the first round in 65 strokes.
Linnea Ström is in joint 16th place with a total of four under par and Linnea Johansson is in 61st place, one over par.
Other Swedes – Frida Kinhult, Louise Ridderström, Pernilla Lindberg and Ellinor Sudow – did not make the cut.
