Nilsson got off to a brilliant start in the fourth part of the WC series and was able to reach the semi-finals. Once there, it became dramatic, but the 33-year-old held on and secured a final place – his first in a grand prix context.
In the final, Kim Nilsson tried to push and went hard early on, but it didn’t last all the way and he finished fourth. Nilsson got 14 points, which means he climbs to 15th place overall.
The winner was Bartosz Zmarzlik, who with the victory extends his WC lead even further. The Pole has twelve points down on the runner-up, Jack Holder from Australia.
— It’s fun to win here in Germany and I’m very happy and proud. I thank the fans for the support, says Zmarzlik in Discovery’s broadcast.
For Fredrik Lindgren, things went wrong. Lindgren did not level up at all and did not make it to the semi-finals. Afterwards he was very disappointed.
– It’s boring. It was a poor performance with a lot of mistakes, and you can’t afford that at this level. We made many wrong decisions, says Fredrik Lindgren, who slips down to fourth place overall.
Next up is the fifth round in Gorzow, Poland, on June 24. On July 15, the star drivers will come to Sweden and Målilla.
