– Thirty-five villages are still flooded on the right bank (west of the Dnieper River, ed. note), 3,763 houses are under water, but the water is gradually decreasing, says Kherson’s military chief Oleksandr Prokudin.
The flooding triggered by damage to the Kakhovka dam early on Tuesday has forced thousands to flee, disrupted water supplies and raised fears of an environmental and humanitarian catastrophe.
Vitaly Kim, governor of Ukraine’s Mykolaiv Oblast, also says water levels have begun to drop there. (TT)
