The government commissions an investigator to propose a subsidy ceiling. The goal is that no one should be able to receive more in social and housing benefits than what a job provides in income. According to the government, this will encourage more people to seek out the labor market.
– We are presenting the next step in the major grant reform that we have been planning for quite some time, says Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M).
The proposal is presented at a press meeting with representatives of the government and the support party Sweden Democrats. The proposal must be ready by December 2024.
