Zlatan draws his absolute dream eleven – try not to laugh when you see the name at the bottom of the paper

Zlatan’s career was outstanding.
And he managed to play with some of the greatest in history.
Once he sat down and chalked down his absolute dream team of fellow players – with a perfectly neat detail at the bottom of the paper.

On Sunday, the saga that was Zlatan Ibrahimovic came to an end. He broke through in Malmö at the end of the 90s, and after that there has been one big victory streak. Ibrahimovic was successful in team after team, and country after country, and when he ended his career a few days ago, he did so as one of the absolute greatest of all time.

Incredible career

Few players have won as many titles, and scored as many goals, as our Swedish superstar, but during his career Ibrahimovic has also had time to play with some of the greatest in history. It is almost impossible to make a list of which of all teammates was actually the best, but Zlatan has actually tried to do this.

Sky Sports Italia, after Ibrahimovic finished his career, drew attention to the dream team Zlatan put together in the book “I am football”, which was released in 2018. In the book, Zlatan himself had sat down and via paper and pen written the absolute best eleven ever of players he played with. Or, ten teammates, to be precise.

The detail of the dream elf

Something that many people laughed at is that at the bottom of the paper, Ibrahimovic’s own name is written down. It is not so surprising that Zlatan chooses himself in his dream eleven, but considering the career he has had, it is perhaps not so strange either. Otherwise, it’s a completely matchless team that Zlatan put together, and it’s hard to see how any team in world history would come up against it. How about, for example, having goalkeeping icon Julio Cesar on the bench, alongside Andrés Iniesta and Fabio Cannavaro?

In the starting eleven, Gianluigi Buffon is in goal, and in front of him he has a back line consisting of Lilian Thuram, Thiago Silva, Alessandro Nesta and Maxwell. The midfield consists of Xavi, Patrick Vieira and Nedved – and up front is a trio of Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, and Zlatan himself. A completely unbeatable team, and surely it is only too clever that Zlatan chooses to put himself as a striker? What an icon!
