Brantford police have placed a ‘hold and secure’ at several local schools.
The Grand Erie District School Board announced on social media that Walter Gretzky Elementary School and Edith Monture Elementary School have been placed in “hold and secure” due to police activity in the area. The police activity is related to well-being concerns for an individual.
No entry or exit from the schools was being allowed as of 12:40 pm Wednesday.
All students and staff are safe, the board said in its social media post.
Meanwhile, police also placed Assumption College, St. Basil’s and St. Gabriel schools in hold and secure on Wednesday.
The measure was implemented out of an abundance of caution, the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board, said in social media post.
The board said schools will be notified when the schools are released by Brantford police.
