Breaking news: President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke on the phone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Erdogan’s meeting with the two leaders included the Russia-Ukraine war and the explosion of the Kahovka Dam, the latest development in the war.
‘COMMISSION’ PROPOSAL FROM ERDOĞAN AFTER THE EXPLOSION
In his meeting with Zelenskiy, President Erdoğan stated that a commission could be established with the participation of experts from the warring parties, the United Nations and the international community, including Turkey, for a detailed investigation into the explosion at the Kahovka Dam.
As a result of the hit of the Kahovka Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant (HES) in Ukraine, houses in the Kherson region were flooded.

Stating that as Turkey, they are ready to do their best in this regard, President Erdoğan also expressed that a negotiation method can be followed as in the grain corridor.
Emphasizing that it will not be possible to prevent the human losses that occur every day as the conflicts continue, President Erdoğan said that they will resolutely continue their efforts to establish a just peace.
He also met with Putin
According to the statement made by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, during the meeting between Erdogan and Putin, the developments in the Russia-Ukraine war were discussed.
Expressing that a commission could be established with the participation of Russian and Ukrainian experts, the United Nations and the international community, including Turkey, President Erdoğan stated that Turkey is ready to do its part in this context.
Underlining the importance that the whole world attaches to the continuation of the Grain Agreement, President Erdoğan underlined that the agreement they established through joint efforts plays a vital role in tackling the global food crisis.
Erdogan also stated that he would benefit from the continuation of consultations with the United Nations to remove obstacles to the export of Russian grain and fertilizer.
Emphasizing that Turkey is determined to continue to make the necessary efforts to establish a just peace, Erdoğan said that they are ready to sincerely provide all necessary support for the end of the conflicts.
