Blinken’s three-day visit comes after a period of strained relations between the countries after Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was murdered at the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2018. A killing that US intelligence believes was approved by the Saudi Crown Prince.
Blink continues on Wednesday to Riyadh for further meetings.
