The Waterline Walking Path is part of a more than two hundred kilometer long Historical Defense Line with many forts, fortifications and castles. Heling therefore aims to clean up this historic landscape, which is actually one large open-air museum, together. “The water line is a very special place. Fort Nieuwersluis is actually a place where both the new and the old Dutch water line run. The old one was once created for defense when the French invaded the Netherlands in 1672.”
