A headland on the island of Storö outside Unnaryd, in Halland county, is in flames.
According to P4 Halland there is a large rescue operation underway where rescue services have now reached the island with the help of a boat. The alarm came in around 2 p.m.
Water bombed from the air
By 5 p.m., half of the four-hectare island had burned up, according to Sveriges Radio.
The rescue effort currently includes water bombing from helicopters.
